Prime Minister Scott Morrison has refused to commit to a net zero emissions reduction target by 2050, ahead of the federal government's release of its plan to reduce emissions this week.

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese says Scott Morrison is on a road to nowhere on climate policy after the prime minister declined to commit to a net-zero emissions target by 2050, while saying it was achievable.

Ahead of the government's release of its long-flagged technology roadmap this week, Mr Morrison said zero emissions would certainly be achieved in the second half of this century. In a pre-recorded interview with ABC television's Insiders program, the prime minister said it was about the technology the nation invests in when considering how to make such targets happen.

Pressed several times by Insiders' host David Speers about a commitment to a 2050 zero target, Mr Morrison said:"We are committed to investing in the technology which reduces emissions in this country."18 September: Young Australians call for COVID-19 recovery plan with climate jobs

Excellent. Considering there are no permanent droughts in Australia, the dams are full, Cooktown is cooling and Wind turbines are pretty useless.

Scott Morrison says he is more interested in doing..... doing nothing. Climate criminal.

‘I’m trying to answer’: PM quizzed on unemployment rate ‘peak’Prime Minister Scott Morrison says it’s “hard to say” whether unemployment will keep rising in Australia as coronavirus restrictions continue to ease and jobs return. Tell the truth. It was actually a stage managed recording from Friday. 1. It wasn't a grilling. 2 It wasn't this morning, it was pre-recorded. 3 He wasn't 'oressed' on the unemployment rate. Apart from getting all the facts wrong, good tweet. It was recorded on Friday. Wet lettuce treatment also. So that's two strikes with your story and I've not even opened it yet.

‘Hundreds of thousands of jobs to return by Christmas’: PMPrime Minister Scott Morrison has backed the controversial decision to cut its coronavirus welfare payments next week, saying he expects “hundreds of thousands” of jobs to return before Christmas. Good now, bludgers get back to your jobs and the dole budges get a job. And he’s also going to reduce taxes for the wealthy. Where is the expectation that they are going to share the spoils when trickle-down economics don’t work? Another “announcement”. This man is not a prophet. I am working on a Jeremiad.
