Rector of Newman College at Melbourne University Father Frank Brennan says the discrepancies in the current lockdown laws in Melbourne which allow 70 to attend a pub, but only 20 a faith service, “make no sense”.

13min

“We’re left with question that, if for example, you had a group of 70 Christians or 70 Muslims, or an ecumenical group gathered at the pub, and they decided, well, we’ve had a drink, let’s go back over the road and say a prayer, well they’re being told, the 70 of you can no longer do that.” “It makes no sense,” he said. “I think what’s needed is just rational discussion about this.

Where exactly in Melbourne can 70 people attend a pub at the moment?

Oh and for those that own horses apparently! Inconsistency is an understatement .

I have not been to church for a long time so it does not affect me. Obviously Churches, mosques etc are much bigger than pubs, where's the logic? Again not thinking of people's mental health. 😪

None of scamdrews lockdown bullshit makes sense .

Does this church man have a COVID safety plan approved by the health authorities? Stop the emotional rationalism and get real.

Daniel Andrews ‘desperate to distract’ from costly Victorian crisis: Treasurer | Sky News AustraliaTreasurer Josh Frydenberg says Premier Daniel Andrews’ claim, “some are from Victoria but not for Victoria” sounds like a “desperate distraction from a premier under real pressure”.\n\n“The Victorian government has shown a callous indifference to the loss of jobs in Victoria and to the plight of small business,” he told Sky News.\n\n“In New South Wales they had more cases than we have in Victoria today, yet they were able to open the cafes, the pubs, the clubs and the restaurants and to get people back to work.”\n\nMr Frydenberg said there had been “consistent and sustained” criticism of Victoria’s handling of the crisis.\n\n“More than 1,000 people in Victoria are losing their job everyday of this lockdown on average,” he said.\n\n“Now Victoria with 26 per cent of Australia’s population makes up 40 per cent of those effectively unemployed across the country.\n\n'Billions of dollars are going from the federal coffers into Victoria to support – as we should and we will – Victorians through this crisis which started with those failures at hotel quarantine.' \n Oh please. Sounds like honesty to me. dictator This is strongly becoming comical 🙄

'The net around Daniel Andrews is closing': Victorian Shadow Attorney-General | Sky News AustraliaThe hotel quarantine inquiry needs to hear from Premier Daniel Andrews once more because he – like many who have given evidence – has suffered “a case of mysterious amnesia,” according to Victorian shadow Attorney-General Ed O’Donohue.\n\nVictoria's Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton has been asked to submit an affidavit as the hotel quarantine inquiry seeks an explanation as to why key emails weren't tendered during an extraordinary session on Tuesday.\n\nIt comes as two email chains were not submitted by the Department of Health and Human Services pertaining to the “chain of command” of hotel quarantine, and when Professor Sutton was made aware of private security.\n\nMr O’Donohue told Sky News host Chris Kenny the inquiry must hear from many of those who have already given evidence and some who haven’t, including the premier.\n\n“Jenny Mikakos has basically called Daniel Andrews untruthful, that evidence must be tested, Daniel Andrews’ evidence must be tested,” he said.\n\n“The net around Daniel Andrews is closing, the truth needs to be revealed, and we need to hear again from Daniel Andrews about what he knew.”\n DanielAndrewsMP It’s called perjury, in court....here, it’s only lying!
