A Byron Bay pub has been slammed as the “most expensive” in Australia after a patron revealed they’d paid almost $20 for a pint. 7NEWS

In total, the receipt dated December 28 showed prices for three pints of Peroni and one pint of Stone and Wood .Many took to the comments of the Reddit post to express their own frustration at the soaring beer prices.

A popular pub in Byron has been dubbed as the place where the countries ‘most expensive’ beer can be found.“Never been to Byron; I always assumed here in Sydney we had some of the worst tourist gouging, but $20 a pint? That‘s insane,” one person said. “I went there a month ago and got a pint of Stone and Wood and my reaction was the same! Insane! Place was empty too,” another added.“Looks about right for the Beachy. You are paying to be in Byron,” one person said.“Everything touristy you can basically triple the price no worries,” a third said.

Does staff gets pay properly ,the according with pub earnings?

Everything is getting expensive and tourist attraction places too. Impossible to out with family.

I've paid $19 for a pint of alcoholic ginger beer

We live inland from Byron Bay and never visit. It is way too expensive, a drug environment, and over crowded/ overrated. The scenery is stunning. Pity it has turned into a yuppie playground, as was a great spot even in the 70's and 80's.

It’s Byron. The land of the unwashed and tourists thinking it’s trendy. 🤷‍♀️

Should have gone to Specsavers ! 😎

Eaten there a few times. Family of 4, $140 I think it was with a drink each.

Pubs have gone crazy. The pokies are their number 1 priority which means they can treat us other gullible patrons like shit! My pub is dying while the pokies & tab are always packed. They should separate the liquor and gaming licences. Or better yet blow-up the pokies!

All pubs are too expensive... Albos inflation is ridiculous.... Groceries are worse...Anyone who had savings will slowly lose it due to all this plus electricity....

Yup now you noticed. Byron Bay, how it is.

Oh shock horror. Here we go with the media pushing beer from any angle then in the next feed cry over drink drivers and women badgers

Mount pritchard club price Fridays 3pm - 4pm $3.50 4pm - 5pm $4 5pm - 6pm $5

Choose another pub.

Stone and Wood is a great beer though.

It is time for to found an alternative for 🇦🇺 day 🎉🍺🍹🍻celebration

That's terrible. How do they justify that?

wow, an i was complaining bout how much American Social Restuarant was MAKING PEOPLE PAY FOR THERE BEERS, an there beers werent Pint size Glasses, $10,50 a Schooner at AS

Well I guess I am not going there

As long as people are stupid enough to pay it, they'll continue to charge it.

Over a thousand social media accounts blocked in China after COVID policy criticismsPopular social media platform Sina Weibo says it issued temporary or permanent bans on 1,120 accounts, based on their criticism of China's COVID-19 policies. Same thing happens here in America. Until recently this occured on all of social media. Things like prophylactic treatments to Covid, Hunter's laptop, the fraudulent 2020 election have all been suppressed by the umbrella of big tech. Sounds like Youtube, Facebook, and (old) Twitter.
