Council on the Ageing Australia Chief Executive Ian Yates says he wants politicians to talk about “real issues” for older people this federal election rather than trying to “scare voters”.

Mr Yates told Sky News host Rita Panahi he would like the leaders from both major parties to talk about

issues impacting older Australians, such as the “lack of mental health services for older people in this country”.

Voters are scared, those who are in aged care and villages see it everyday. Their children see it, the costs, rip offs, food and quality of care. As they age they are concerned about their own fate in some of these glorified cells. The deposits and exit fees have imprisoned many.

Morrison said that age care would close down in Rural and Regional Australia if a nurse was employed 24 hours per day so obviously as most age care is run by the Churches and Private Businesses it's all about profit margins. 🤔
