Victoria Police officers deployed pepper spray and restrained some protesters after clashes erupted between police and those attending an anti-lockdown rally in Melbourne on Saturday.
One woman could be heard chanting "we are not communists" while other protesters told police: "you serve us".The rally began relatively peacefully, with protesters staging a sit-down protest. As police attempted to disperse protesters, some responded by throwing water bottles and projectiles at officers and shouting expletives, before being met with pepper spray.

What's the protest all about
Name and shame everyone at these protests. It is clear some used it as an excuse to hurt Police. Footage showed one male attacking a female officer.
All of them should have been arrested and all of them fined at the very least!
Now send their faces to their bosses so they'll get fired.
Even a rabbit will fight when cornered. Police set up lines both fore and aft in a bid to instigate a violent reaction from people who simply wanted to exercise their rights to peacefully protest tyranny.. But therein lies the problem, doesn't it.
I hope that 193 arrested included the guy who assaulted 5 Police Officers captured on the main 45 second video going around online. Hope he enjoys having NO FREEDOM in jail.
Watched the live report. Hardly believe about the officers hospitalized. Was the peaceful protest until police and police briefed media like you cornered the protesters.
