Sky News host Chris Kenny says Tanya Plibersek has “always been a capable and prominent Labor advocate but her politics have always been way too left for me”.

However, during a citizenship ceremony on Australia Day, Ms Plibersek said she loved the citizenship pledge because “we’re not committing to an abstract notion, we are making a commitment to one another as Australians”.

Describing her “mainstream acceptance” comments as “sensible”, Mr Kenny said she “has not backtracked, she has doubled down on her belief, her policy, and her value statement”. “She's having a break on the back bench at the moment, but any more outbreaks of common sense and mainstream values like this will see her being touted as a possible Labor leader,” he said. Nothing wrong with Plibersek ❗

Me see Party Leadership on the horizon. 🧐

Less electable than Bull Shitten

Just like your right wing views!

See, I told y’all. Lurch to the right with a Nationalist pledge and all the sudden Tanya is acceptable to the Right. Excellent strategy.....You can’t govern from opposition!

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Her pledge was a tactical move, to win back mainstream voters

I don’t know Plibersek, I don’t care for most of her policies, I don’t like the mob she sides with, but her pledge idea has some merit auspol

Anyone left of Mussolini is 'way too left for” you Chris.

Chris Kenny lmfao

She fails to connect with conservative voters.

Yes she is a mad leftie.

tanya_plibersek well duh. Love you 💓

She was an awful Shadow Foreign Minister, so I don't see why she would be good as leader

Well she better than KKK Wong & shorten

This is a good thing imho.

Anyone is left of Chris Kenny 😳

Based on the few bonkers clips I’ve seen Gengis Khan is far too left for him NazisAtNight

she hasn't said a word since the election loss!

Changing the date ‘won’t end Australia Day bashing’ | Sky News AustraliaAustralia’s “shameful episodes” are no reason to avoid celebrating Australia’s “successful, cohesive and free society” on the national day, Sky News host Rita Panahi says.\n\nMs Panahi said people born in Australia or those who are lucky enough to migrate to Australia have “won the lottery of life” and are “deadset” against changing the national date.\n\n“Next it will be changing the anthem then the flag then eliminating the national day altogether,“ Ms Panahi said.\n\n“Poll after poll has shown the overwhelming majority of Australians support the national day on January 26, but we have a loud, bitter class of shrill, self-loathers in the media, academic, government bodies… all telling us our national holiday is a shameful celebration of oppression, genocide and western imperialism,” she said.\n\n“More than 70 per cent of Australians support Australia Day being celebrated,” Ms Panahi said.\n\n“But, of course, the left won’t accept a poll commissioned by a centre-right thinktank, so let’s look at a poll that was commissioned by the very left-leaning Guardian.”\n\n“They found only six per cent of Australians felt negatively towards Australia Day; among Indigenous Australians, 31 per cent felt negatively.”\n\nImage: Getty RitaPanahi ...racist Sky News host Rita Panaihi says...
