Marie Kondo creates boom for op shoppers but bad news for oceansThe Japanese organising expert is a boom in op shops but a bust for our oceans. I run an op shop. She has caused a massive spike in landfill, mostly plastic. And the saddest thing is that people will replace all the unsellable crap with more. Think people FFS. This is a BS headline. I can't stand Marie Kondo, but she isn't responsible for the rabid consumerism. I'm all for a tidy home, but I'm absolutely against fast fashion and rampant consumerism which creates unnecessary landfill.

This is why Marie Kondo's advice on books really stingsComment: Anyone who is personally affronted by the idea of keeping no more than 30 books has obviously never moved house JFC the editorials are becoming more lightweight by the day. I have moved plenty of times and I still think this is unreasonable. I read a lot and have a small bookshelf, I buy books on Kindle and if I feel it’s absolutely worth buying physically, then i buy the physical copy because it must be worth paying for twice.

This is why Marie Kondo's advice on books really stingsBooks have become a default personality trait and it's probably not sparking joy. What’s with this Marie kondo craze. She isn’t doing anything special, she doesn’t even fold clothes properly! Is it the broken English? I don't watch people cleaning my own home. Why would anyone watch someone cleaning someone else's home? I don’t have a problem with culling my books, in fact I about to embark on such a cull. However, 30 books only? Just, no!
