A pilot has been seriously injured in a light plane crash at Renmark North in South Australia's Riverland.

South Australian Police said they received reports a light plane crashed near David Street at 6:15pm on Saturday evening, bringing down power lines. Paramedics said the 49-year-old man, from Port Willunga, south of Adelaide, was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious but stable condition with multiple injuries.Renmark residents have told the ABC the plane crashed into vineyards near a dam.
