Sky News host Rita Panahi says Opposition leader Peter Dutton needs to form a clear position on the Voice to Parliament.

Sky News host Rita Panahi says Opposition leader Peter Dutton needs to form a clear position on the Voice to Parliament. “The reason he should be standing against it is because we don’t want toxic race politics enshrined into our constitution,” she told Sky News host Paul Murray.

The constitution is the people's document. Politicians have the responsibility to clearly advise the public of the proposal, complete with EXACT wording and detail and then BUTT OUT. The people will decide if the constitution will be changed.

I see your problem; using ‘clear’ in the same sentence as the Voice, it ain’t!

And who is Rita talking for….I’m a bit confused but Peter Dutton is accountable to his supporters and voting base no one else…and I’m pretty comfortable with his current position of wanting detail…any sensible person would like the detail on what they are expected to vote on

PeterDutton_MP needs to offer people a strong alternative for the NO vote & not give in to Albo & Burney's accusations about people who vote NO. The constitution should represent all Australians equally regardless of race, religion, gender or skin colour.

He already has. It was always going to be NO

What with 25 % of rhe detail and 75% still being thrashed out in a workshop group . Cant see how you can make any desision until you have 100% .

He thinks he is being clever by hanging back, even though the Yes campaign has already launched. But he is going to bleed to death politically, unless he comes out soon, and strongly, for the NO case.

He doesn’t need to until the referendum date is announced. That way MSM are kept offside.

He is playing both sides of the line again like Morrison only it will not work again liberals have had enough

Peter Dutton .... what would Gov Desantis do?... in a would full of Albos be a Desantis!!

Who?

Some of us realised the instant they told us that Apartheid would fix everything - that it was a crock of shit. Dutto still hasn't work it out. FFS Dutton. Hedging your bets doesn't work. Aussies like decisive leaders. Joh, Don Dunstan, Bob Carr/Hawke. Know ur history son.

Agree the time is now

The constitution is a rule book for governing. It serves all Australians equally. Singling out any group, no matter how well meaning, is repugnant. We have the same voice to parliament… one vote, one value. With the details hidden until after the vote, you’d be nuts to vote yes.

No!

I don't think he needs to. Albo's failing to sell it.

I don't think there is a rush. Plenty of time for everyone to get sick of this. Perhaps 'Voice' should be renamed to 'Whaaaa' even though that's been recently used.

Vote no! Stop the cycle of generational victim mentality, move on!

‘Mischievous’: Dutton slammed as ‘irresponsible’ for opposing British model AUKUS subsOpposition Leader Peter Dutton says Australia should not buy British submarines with an AUKUS announcement on nuclear-powered models expected in the coming weeks as Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy labels Mr Dutton's comments as “mischievous”. Mr Dutton said in a media conference, Australia should pursue the United States model as it provides “interoperability with the Americans” and there would be “more” US submarines in the Indo-Pacific than British ones. Mr Conroy said the Opposition Leader’s comments are “incredibly irresponsible” and he is “either being mischievous or is not privy to the latest information.” Agree but Labor has no idea Well they are dragging us into war and they need to keep the military industrial complex going...
