Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says she will deliver stern words to several of her MPs after they were caught on the campaign trail with signs saying they would put the LNP last – despite Labor stating they would put One Nation last. Labor MPs Mike Bruckner, Craig Crawford and Britney Lauga were among those seen brandishing the signs. Ms Palaszczuk said all the MPs would be read the riot act if they were not towing the party line.

“I made it very clear, and the party secretary has made it very clear, that One Nation is last,” she said. The premier denied she had lost control of the party. One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson said the debacle could play into their party’s hands. “It’s actually shocked me because we’ve put out a really strong campaign against Britney Lauga,” Ms Hanson said. “The Libs flow preferences to us. There’s a good chance she could lost that seat to One Nation.

Queensland LNP thought they 'had the election in the bag, didn't fight Labor' | Sky News AustraliaSky News contributor Campbell Newman says currently in Queensland, the momentum is with the Labor Party because the LNP thought they had the election in the bag and didn’t “take the fight to Labor”.\n\n“The situation has basically gone backwards since Christmas - New Year about a year ago,” Mr Newman told Sky News host Alan Jones.\n\n“I think the LNP thought they were going very well because the polling at that stage showed they were in front, and Annastacia Palaszczuk had a negative net favourability rating.”\n\n“As we progressed through the year, that favourability rating has gone from a negative net rating, to a positive net rating.\n\n“Momentum is with the Labor party.\n\n“It’s because the LNP thought they really had it in the bag, I think, many, many months ago and didn’t relentlessly and ruthlessly continue to prosecute the case for a change of government, articulate their policies, excite the voters, and take the fight to Labor.”\n He's still smarting after his one-term fiasco of a government. lol Suppose he has a point being a one term premier and MP - all in the one term. Really? Credibility is lacking.

Labor candidates will be 'read the riot act' for not toeing party line on preferences, Premier warnsQueensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has warned Labor MPs and candidates 'they'll be read the riot act' for not toeing the party line over preferences, after photos emerged showing supporters encouraging voters to 'put the LNP last'. Rubbish put your constituents FIRST! It's a non-issue as far as most voters are concerned. But it's important for strategic reasons and reasons of perception. You don't win battles by allowing the troops to decide strategy mid campaign. Anyway, it's hard to be worse than the LNP, but ON manages to be that party. Nice free political advertising ABC, unconscious bias shows in soo many ways 🤦‍♂️😏.

'Communist Party news agency' parliament house privilege ‘must be reviewed’ | Sky News AustraliaLiberal Senator James Paterson has called for the “state-owned, state-directed, state-controlled Communist Party news agency” Xinhua to have its unrestricted parliament house access reviewed.\n\n“If they Xinhua News Service journalists are indeed journalists in any sense of the word, they do not resemble journalists we have here in Australia,” Senator Paterson told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.\n\nHe said the state-owned news agency has been “credibly accused” across the world of “facilitating propaganda and disinformation and even engaging in espionage”.\n\n“Yet they have access to parliament house, unrestricted access to parliament house, and the right to sign in guests to parliament house with no oversight at all,” Senator Paterson said.\n\n“The same day Xinhua journalists were raided by ASIO in Sydney, Xinhua journalists turned up to the prime minister’s press conference and aggressively filmed Australian journalists in an apparent attempt to intimidate them.\n\n“Their status should be reviewed.”\n SenPaterson Fair enough.
