Outdoor pools in New South Wales will open to the public from next week including those in Sydney’s hotspot LGAs.
Councils will be allowed to reopen outdoor public pools under a stringent COVID-safe plan – approved by New South Wales Health. The decision comes as Premier Gladys Berejiklian faced increasing pressure from local leaders of the city’s 12 local government areas of concern – pleading for restrictions to be eased.
Mayors have appealed for community swimming pools to reopen following outrage over hundreds of people packing beaches in the eastern suburbs last weekend.
