More than half of the state's residents aged 16 years and over are now fully vaccinated.

They were four women and two men, with one in their forties, one in their sixties, two in their seventies and two in their eighties.One of the men in his 70s who died acquired his infection overseas.

Of the 233 people in intensive care, 173 are not vaccinated, 55 have had one dose of a vaccine, and five are fully vaccinated. The majority of the state's COVID-19 infections continue to come out of western and south-western Sydney, with NSW Health highlighting Merrylands, Auburn, Guilford, Liverpool, Bankstown, Greenacre and Punchbowl as key areas of concern on Saturday morning.
