One woman has been killed and another taken to hospital after a serious head-on collision 300km east of Melbourne. 7NEWS

The female driver of the first vehicle died at the scene, and the female driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after having to be cut from the damaged car.A total of 178 people have lost their lives on Victorian roads this year, an increase of 21 from the same time last year.
