Older, wiser, more empathetic: The Chaser team reunites for one last laugh | anthonysegaert

The Chaser team has grown up, but that doesn’t mean they can’t get together for one final laugh.

The man leading the reboot, Charles Firth, has worked through the night with the team to pull the event together.“Looking back, there were so many gags where you go, ‘Oh, you wouldn’t tell that today, that’s very edgy’,” he reflects. But the biggest thing that has changed is the people behind the Chaser themselves: mature, wiser, and maybe a little more empathetic.

Freedom of expression, joking & telling it like it is cannot be tolerated. Every day there are people who overhear racist or sexist jokes. Meanwhile each day, other Australians hear that they have a terminal illness. Perhaps the first group could focus on developing some resilience & perspective & hope that they never become members of the second. Almost the perfect ABCNews story! What else could you ask for? Of course! Some pedophilia and religious bigotry…
