Six people have been charged following the alleged assault of two off-duty police officers at Burnside Village shopping centre in Adelaide's eastern suburbs.

Six people have been charged after two off-duty police officers were allegedly assaulted at an upmarket shopping centre in Adelaide's eastern suburbs.The guard had detained a group of people suspected of shopliftingSA Police were called to Burnside Village just before 5:15pm on Thursday after reports that the off-duty officers had beenThe security guard had detained several people who were suspected of shoplifting.

A 19-year-old man, a 20-year-old and 19-year-old woman from Mawson Lakes, a 21-year-old from Thevenard, a 32-year-old from Salisbury North and a 17-year-old from Renown Park have been charged with aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated assault causing harm and aggravated assault. They have been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court and Adelaide Youth Court today.

SA Police is urging those who witnessed the incident or have video footage to contact Crime Stoppers.In late December 2018, a woman was arrested after allegedly stealing clothing from Burnside Village before leading police on a car chase through South Australia's Clare Valley region. The 28-year-old Whyalla woman had allegedly shoplifted more than $6,000 of clothes, before she was pursued for more than two hours.
