A partial trans-Tasman bubble is two weeks away from being launched – but only for NSW and the Northern Territory – allowing New Zealanders to travel to Australia without having to go into quarantine.

South Australia is expected to be the next state to join the bubble.

Kiwis can travel provided they have not been in a COVID-19 hotspot 14 days prior to their travel, and those who opt to travel would need to quarantine on their way back home. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern believes two-way quarantine-free travel would be possible by Christmas.

Why don't you tell the truth. trans-Tasman bubble is not what people think. 😱😂😂😂😂😂😂

There is no bubble. Ardern has confirmed our foolish PM did not ask for Australians in States with no or little infection to be able to fly to NZ. This fool needs New Zealanders & islanders to replace the workforce he decimated with his travel ban & lack of quarantine.

If I were in NZ, I wouldn't want anyone from NSW coming to infect my country either. Look what Berry-jiggling, Peter Dutton and Scammo did to VIC.

Open Australia to Aussies first

Only those same NZrs need to quarantine on their return. Oops

trans bubble

and the sheep still believe COVID is real talk about dumbed down idiot boxers... but let see how long it takes to have ases in NSW/NT DUH

NZ residents given green light to travel to NSW, NT | Sky News AustraliaThe federal government has today signed a trans-Tasman travel bubble which will allow New Zealand residents to travel to New South Wales and the Northern Territory without being required to quarantine.\n\nDeputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack announced the first step of the deal would come into effect from Friday, October 16. \n\nUnder the agreement, any New Zealand resident would be allowed to travel to NSW and NT on the proviso they have not been in a declared COVID hotspot in the 14 days prior to leaving. \n\n“I know that New South Wales, Premier Gladys Berejiklian and I know that the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory Michael Gunner welcome this indeed,” Mr McCormack said. \n\n“I have just gotten off the phone with Chief Minister Gunner who says the fish are biting and the beers are cold'. \n\nHe revealed the agreement was open to any other state or territory that enforced travel restrictions which were in line with the Commonwealth hotspot definition. \n\n'Everything we have done, we have taken, we have heeded that advice and we do so again today on the basis that the hot spot definition is robust and proportionate as of course, it has to be, the Commonwealth is comfortable in recommending that these people not be placed in mandatory quarantine,' he said. \n\n'I am very pleased that Scott Morrison has been able to arrange this, I know that it will be welcomed with our New Zealand friends and I know that it is certainly being welcomed by those people in New South Wales, in the Northern Territory in particular.' \n\n Congrats to both PM'S. 👍 Some help for tourism in Nsw & NT. Great when do I and so many others get to travel from Victoria to NSW to see our partners and families? Sounds like the tourist bubble dollar is more important than Australian families and mental health

Decision to resume travel to NZ in 'Jacinda Ardern's court' | Sky News AustraliaDeputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack says the decision to allow Australians to resume travelling to New Zealand is “very much in Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s court”.\n\nThe federal government today announced a trans-Tasman travel bubble which will see NZ residents allowed to travel to New South Wales and the Northern Territory without having to undergo quarantine. \n\nWhen probed as to when Australians might be able to begin travelling to NZ, Mr McCormack said discussions had been held between Ms Ardern and Prime Minister Scott Morrison and he would leave it to them to come to an arrangement. \n\n“But I know, having spoken to both Alan Joyce and Paul Scarr, the chief executive officers of Qantas and Virgin respectively, they are also very, very pleased with these arrangements,” Mr McCormack said. \n\n“I know they want to see planes back in the air across the Tasman because planes in the air means jobs on the ground.” \n\n M_McCormackMP jacindaardern Would be great idea esp for my mum's 60th bday to visit her fams in NZ ... 'You can't put a price on hope': NZ travel bubble welcomed in NTThe news that New Zealanders could soon be visiting the Northern Territory has been a shot in the arm for local businesses and medical organisations in need of Kiwi workers. But for Darwin resident Donna Linklater, the trans-Tasman travel bubble is personal. You can’t in WA, with Premier McKaren there’s NO CHANCE of having the grossly overdue SMART & EFFICIENT borders.
