The PM is set to kickstart the trans-Tasman travel bubble by next Tuesday, which will see hotel quarantine scrapped for New Zealand arrivals.

Government sources told The Australian that the announcement is expected before Tuesday’s federal budget, with the PM and his New Zealand counterpart Jacinda Ardern discussing plans earlier this week.

“I hope very soon to see New Zealanders coming and holidaying in Australia,” Mr Morrison told the National Press Club this afternoon.

What happens if the traveller takes corona back to NEw Zealand and they have a second wave?

Just in time for the election

It's going to be important to get the logistics correct. Guessing this start of travel two 2 states in OZ will be the blueprint for ongoing bubbles in the future. Not sure, no offence SA, how many Kiwis will want to go there, QLD is Kiwis number one destination in OZ.

How can this go ahead when that idiot and her stumbling, bumbling sidekick up in Qld have their borders shut to Nsw!! Get her out of this great State on 31/10 for goodness sake.

So its official? Like we can travel to nz but not all parts of Australia like wa tas and qld

About time. Travel to NZ should never have been restricted.

And AnnastaciaMP is now even more so an absolute JOKE! SE Qld and flailing and she’s playing politics with our border. This could be a prosperous time for Queensland business!! What a disgrace. voteherout
