“If you want reliable energy that is affordable and it’s zero emissions, if that what people want,
this is the only game in town,” Mr Pitt told Sky News host Chris Kenny.“People won’t be able to afford it.”
And the most expensive!
So why didn't he bring this up during his nine years in government?
“Straightforward” Lol.
If Keith Pitt says do it ... It will only be in his masters interests ...
It's also the most expensive form of power generation, is illegal here in Australia, and a new plant takes several years to build. They are good, but no sense in any way for us.
And proven dangerous and nuclear waste is a problem Tell us about China's new nuclear fusion energy clean power and no nuclear waste
I support nuclear as long as Murdoch and the Libs have nothing to do with it. Meaningless renewables are faster and cheaper and here now so let's just got on with it.
You Luddite’s - Nuclear takes decades to implement, renewables take years if not months
So why didn’t they do it when they were in office for a decade ?
Let's see him put a nuclear plant in his electorate then.
In 2020-21 alone the world added 464 gigawatts of wind and solar power generation which is more energy than all the nuclear plants operating in the world today. Plus they take at least 10 years to build. 20 years ago nuclear was a good option. Not any more.
Keith lying again. Nuclear generated electricity is not zero emissions.
Why do the hacks at SKY even care what Keith Pitt has to say on nuclear energy. He is no expert on the subject. Get comments from an expert and it might be worth my attention.....otherwise sod off. Just another reason why Murdoch's media is irrelevant and nobody cares about it.
This story would have been relevant 20 years ago… renewables will do the job much cheaper.
9 years & the LNP did SFA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙄
Nationals are just LNP hillie billies.
The cost of nuclear is probably overblown in many reports but how in the whatever does he think nuclear can influence the mooted 56% rise in electricity prices? SMRs expensive and NA yet. Western countries don't seem to be able to build conventional types in under 10 years.
PeterWallaceAU He'd be correct; sadly our brain-dead populous are programmed to fear the best power technology available on earth.
If u got your ear to street talk it’s becoming more obvious that with energy bills rising Nuclear power stations are back in favour, one’s been suprised hearing this from even greenies , the libs if had any commonsense be on to this , u sense labours on the nose BIG time
Renewable energy does not work. You have to have some sort of backup even for renewable energy. Is that fossil fuels or nuclear take your pic I would say nuclear
Nationals MP Keith Pitt has made it clear he knows SFA about power generation when he tried to make claims about batteries and windmills. At least his last name is a succinct description of where he wants to leave Australia...
Nationals MP Keith Pitt is unAustralian! We are uniquely placed to lead the world & for all to benefit from renewable energy/green hydrogen. AGL worked that out!! He wants monopolies to gouge us & use stranded assets to send tax free profits overseas! Choose Australia!
Renewables are cheaper/faster than nuclear, especially in Australia Nuclear power has always been unfeasible & is becoming more so
NUCLEAR FOR AUSTRALIA? How long to commission? - Who will build it & run it? How much will it cost? - Who will fund it? How much water will it need? - Where will it be located? GET SERIOUS!! Nuclear - Dispelling the Myths
Keith was instrumental with the Indue rollout in Wide Bay! How’d that go for him? Untrustworthy!
The neighbours dog said Skynews is the pitts
There won't be any meaningful Co2 reductions without nuclear!
People will only hate on this because sky news posted it 🤦🏾♂️ NPCs
Too obvious a solution … first we need to put the country through a power poverty crisis. Maybe when Chris Bowen can’t get his EV charged …
How much is he getting paid by vested interests to keep spruiking it?
keithjpitt Chris Kenny still struggling to make to old 'going nuclear' into ongoing story or is just laziness, old stories are easy to recycle.
Will you guys shutup already? We're not going nuclear end of story.
Pitt the Blunder
always great to learn something new, like where these Zero emission uranium mines are - seems its Australia, must be wonderland :)
I don't know if you'd call nuclear waste as an emission.🤔
Good. When the dudes superannuation funds makes an investment let the rest of us know.
