The Northern Territory has recorded three local COVID-19 cases in 24 hours related to the Katherine cluster.
The three new cases are a man in his 40s from Katherine, a woman in her 20s from Robinson River and a male child under 10 from Robinson River.Chief Minister Michael Gunner said all three cases are household contacts and have been in the Howard Springs quarantine facility for the whole of their infectious periods.
Mr Gunner said the trio had tested positive late in their 14-day quarantine periods, which meant they may have caught the virus while in Howard Springs as a result of "family mingling".Some people staying in the facility will have their quarantine periods lengthened as a result. A fourth case recorded in the NT overnight was a flight crew member who arrived from London on a repatriation flight.
