NSW MP Gareth Ward charged over sexual violence allegations

NSW police confirmed a 40-year-old man has been charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent, three counts of committing an active indecency and one count of common assualt.

"You would expect him to resign from parliament but as an independent, he's not duty bound to," he said.In May 2021, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad established Strike Force Condello to investigate allegations of Ward's sexual violence-related offences.
