Sydney police tackling the recent tit-for-tat gangland wars are looking at the lessons from their Melbourne counterparts when bloody underworld feuds tragically spilled over into the public domain.

More than 30 people were murdered in Melbourne during a series of ruthless assassinations over a period from the late 1990s and into the 2000s, includingAt least 13 people in New South Wales have been killed in gang-related crime in the past two years, with two fatal shootings just last week, including one at which Auburn's Bodyfit gym-goers narrowly escaped being shot.

Detective Chief Superintendent Darren Bennett — who is leading the new taskforce investigating a series of south-western Sydney underworld murders — said the recent retributive bloodshed was "similar". "We have constant interactions with our colleagues in Melbourne … they did go through a terrible series of these types of offences that's very similar to what we're going through," Superintendent Bennett said.

Bruhh like 30 people were murdered then 😂

Oh what a great idea! It really worked in Melbourne, didn’t it. Not.

Trying to justify kicking down doors and terrorising women and children does nothing except fuel the hatred of dangerous people,it reinforces the theme of them and us and when kicking the dog it brings a danger of being bitten themselves, like what happened in Melbourne in 1988.

How interesting is a Federal ICAC going to be..

Deport the offenders & their family's.... fixed.
