The report into the New South Wales’ bushfires has been handed down with the state government accepting all 76 recommendations, and while some are practical, many “are just pathetic” says Sky News host Chris Kenny.

The New South Wales government released the independent bushfire inquiry report, which looks at the causes, preparations and responses of the deadly fires earlier this year. Mr Kenny said within the report there are "politically correct references”. “There are recommendations for protocols and training for firefighters on wildlife rescue, I mean please a Koala rescue push stemming from Twitter and the nightly news,” he said.

“The report does recommend some practical support that could be useful, better aerial support for bushfire fighting, better equipment for firefighters around the state. This stuff is practical and sensible up to a point”. “But crucially there's a strong focus on fuel reduction”. Mr Kenny said he has his "quibbles with a few things" in the report, but it ultimately is useful and very practical in focusing on fuel reduction and some of the planning issues.

Pity Kenny doesn't emphasise that virtually all recommendations by Govt enquiries and Royal Commissions are routinely ignored. Nothing changes.

Is there anything on the face of the Earth that Kenny is not an expert on?

Another Kenny statement should be so proud of? So what is his issue here - not enough lives lost, not enough homes destroyed, not enough communities ? Please tell us Kenny. Come on Sky News, get him to tell us why. Don't just about from the rooftop tool

Kenny: “The report does recommend some practical support that could be useful, better aerial support for bushfire fighting..' ~ 'This stuff is practical and sensible up to a point”. ' 17 March 2019 Bill Shorten had just that. But sadly, no one listened.

The report into Sky News host Chris Kenny has been handed down “pathetic”

As bushfire recommendations are such an important safety issue, I think that you should be listing Chris Kenny's fire fighting credentials to give us all confidence in his advice.

And just to clarify, in case my previous comment didn’t make it clear: - No one gives a flying f**k what Kenny thinks of the report....

Kenny is a firefighting expert now? What a superhero! Is there nothing that Chrisso doesn’t know everything about *except election predictions - “Even a drovers dog could beat Vic Labor” 🙄

New data shows 70 per cent health care staff infected at work | Sky News AustraliaNew data has indicated about 70 per cent of health care workers infected with the coronavirus contracted the disease at their workplace.\n\nVictoria Chief Medical Officer Andrew Wilson confirmed the statistic on Tuesday, saying “poor infection practice has probably been the main driver of infection.” \n\nHealth personnel made up a significant portion of the state’s active caseload, with about 70 per cent of infected frontline workers sourced to nurses and about nearly half of those from aged care settings. \n\nThe new figure is a drastic leap from a previous claim by the state’s chief health officer who said only about 15 per cent of health workers caught the virus in their work setting. \n\nImage: News Corp Australia So would it be safe to say that Health Care Workers were a source of community transmission Sounds about right. It’s the opposite of what the Vic government said so it must be true. Did any of them die? 🤔

Dept CMO downplays fears of using foetal cells in vaccine development | Sky News AustraliaThe Deputy Chief Medical Officer has downplayed religious concerns over the use of foetal cells in the development of a coronavirus vaccine. \n\nCatholic Archbishop Anthony Fisher expressed concerns over the Oxford University trial drug which uses embryonic stem cells in manufacturing.\n\nDr Nick Coatsworth reassured people of faith, however, saying researchers worked according to a high ethical standard. \n\n“The reality for vaccines is that they need cell cultures in order for us to grow them, the human cell is a really important part of their development,” he said.\n\n“There are strong ethical regulations surrounding the use of any human cell, particularly foetal human cells.” \n\nImage: AP\n\n Well did you expect him to be critical of it? That’s reserved for proven treatments that are cheap and already on the shelf. Better to push and defend something that’s not even developed yet. How do you ease fears of people who are opposed to being injected with aborted foetus cells ? I must admit it does not inspire me, to have the jab ! Darwin Theory it is then.

Andrews defends plan to keep Vic in state of emergency until Sept 2021 | Sky News AustraliaPremier Daniel Andrews has defended a plan to extend Victoria's State of Emergency powers that would not see them lifted until September 2021.\n\nFormer state premier Jeff Kennett registered his anger with Mr Andrews labelling him a 'megalomaniac'. \n\n'The Premier said he might keep the state of emergency in place until we have a vaccine - we may never have a vaccine,' he said.\n\n'Are we all going to be locked up at the whim of the premier without any checks and balances?\n\n'This is an act of a megalomaniac.'\n\nThe opposition indicated it would not support the bill meaning the premier would need four Upper-House crossbenchers to back it when it was introduced in parliament next week.\n\nThe powers would allow the Victoria government to extend a state of emergency in four-week blocks for up to 12 months as well as greater powers to enforce mandatory quarantine, COVID safe plans for businesses and mandatory mask-wearing.\n\nMr Andrews defended the plan and argued getting back to normal 'won't ever be an option' if the state could not 'protect what it had already achieved'.\n\n'Extending State of Emergency is about ensuring that we can legally make the changes our health experts need to keep us safe, he said. \n\n'This does not change how long our current lockdown will last, or increase the restrictions we face.'\n\nImage: Getty\n\n DanielAndrewsMP Wake up. It's an ambit claim. Dictator Dan knows he's not going to get 12 months. He wants block's of 3 and that's what he'll get. The X benches will tumble and think they've done a great job. Where in fact they would have given him what he wants. Dills. DanielAndrewsMP Don’t extend it.Knowing Victorians they’ll not forget this at the ballot boxes.Peoples’ mental health, education, businesses, jobs and overall economy are struggling. An extension would cause problems. But implementation and embedding of strong policies and strategies would help. DanielAndrewsMP This is how a democracy slips into a dictatorship;Andrews is not a benign politician who is primarily interested in welfare of his citizens;Andrews is an IDEOLOGUE who is only interested in furthering his political interests; His political interests lie in bringing Socialism here.
