North Sydney poll shows teal preference fight looms

Single-seat polling and polling paid for by campaign groups can be unreliable in elections. Labor’s public polling in the national race is close to the party’s internal numbers.

The poll asked respondents who they would preference higher between Mr Zimmerman and Ms Tink. More than 51 per cent nominated Ms Tink, and 17.2 per cent nominated Mr Zimmerman.Asked which issue would determine their vote, 26.2 per cent said climate change and the environment first, ahead of 23 per cent for the economy and 19.1 per cent for integrity in politics.Ms Tink played down the poll, but said there was sentiment for change at early voting sites in the electorate.

“People are telling me time and time again that they want someone who will stand up for them on the things that matter most, like faster action on climate, integrity, equality and a forward-focused economy,” she said. ”And ultimately, they want a North Sydney federal election vote that is consistent with our community’s ambitions and values.reports from the federal press gallery at Parliament House.
