North Korea's most vulnerable are 'at risk of starvation', the UN says, with the economy worsening due to a self-imposed COVID-19 blockade in place since early last year.

KCNA

The impoverished nation has been behind a rigid blockade since early last year to protect itself from the pandemic, with the economy suffering and trade with key partner China dwindling to a trickle. Quintana said such restrictions should be eased to protect the country's most vulnerable in the face of a severe food shortage."Sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council should be reviewed and eased when necessary to both facilitate humanitarian and lifesaving assistance."

Pyongyang has stayed away from talks on its nuclear programme since the collapse of a second summit between Mr Kim and then US president Donald Trump in Hanoi and has rebuffed South Korean efforts to revive dialogue.

Blame the evil US regime. And vassal Australia is imitated in this atrocious act against humanity. All bc NK fights against you imposing your sick ideology upon his people.

How do you even know this ? Why would Kim tell the western media this according the article.

Why can't they use their 'invincible weapons' funding to feed the population? What's the point of having WMD with a hungry army who could go AWOL at any moment?

Is anyone there vaccinated at all? Even the Sinovax one?

nah, US sanction is the long term factor to contribute its humanitarian crisis

At least 'Dear Leader' looks well fed.

North Koreans are starving, daily, COVID rules or not.
