Noise from transport work made Adam's lockdown life unbearable. Now, lives in a 'vacant' city

Working from home is hard enough but it is especially tough if you're living next to a construction site.

As the noise bled into the night – loud thumping and bright flashlights kept him and his children awake – Adam begged to be relocated. The level crossing removal project relocated him for a few nights on about six different occasions between April and June, while the stage three lockdown rules were in place.

Despite the short-term relocation program, there were many nights spent at home while loud banging continued, Adam said. The Andrews government is pressing ahead with its level crossing removal project during the pandemic.Adam said staying home wasn't bearable and he was finally relocated on the weekend to an apartment in the city. He now lives in a "vacant" city and drives two hours a day to take a child to a school in Broadmeadows, but at least it is finally quiet.

Mr Hummond accepts the need for daytime works during the pandemic in order to build the flagship transport project but he said people need a break in the evening. Loud, high-pressure hosing used in an excavated area for three nights before a press conference pushed the definition of "unavoidable", Mr Hammond said.

The Victorian lockdown 'will not end' unless people stop going to work sick, Premier saysVictorian Premier Daniel Andrews says 'far too many people' are going to work while sick, instead of getting tested and staying home while waiting for a result, labelling it 'the biggest driver' of coronavirus transmission in the state. Yep. It's all the public's fault. Nothing to do with asymptomatic spread and nothing to do with poor hotel quarantine by Andrews and his Labor mates. If they're willing to pay for all bills 🤷‍♀️

I think they are exactly correct. 1st -:lock down state government before they do more damage 2nd -:lock down BLM they don't understand the term social distancing. 3rd -:And finally get rid of the media's vital industry status if they can't be bipartisan then they are just hacks Any naive pipe dream thinking they can control the virus without locking down when the daily case number is double digits turns out to be failure. Learn the lesson from Vic GladysB . You should at least close restaurants, pubs clubs and gyms now.
