The nation's chief medical officer, Professor Brendan Murphy, has told Australians there is no need for face masks despite being 'concerned' about the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Japan and South Korea

tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday. The virus had killed more than 2450 people and infected nearly 78,000 by Sunday afternoon.

"It's still a long, long way away. Months away. Generally speaking, to get a vaccine from candidate to molecule test would be more than a year." Also on Sunday, the first group of Australians evacuated from China's Wuhan province to Darwin were released after two weeks in quarantine. The quarantine period ended at 5.30am on Sunday and evacuees have since been cleared to re-enter the general population.

Because the virus hasn't escaped into wilds of the Australia community doesn't make face masks ineffective is very strange logic. If they were ineffective why do medical staff wear them everyday in your local hospital.

If you got a Face mask then don’t you think the virus could enter thru your skin, ears, hands, feet, any other part of your body?

Where there is a Chinese, you will need a 😷

If face masks do not work I would rather hear about action that individuals should take to protect themselves so as to diminish getting the virus. It is the big elephant in the room & clearly nothing to see here will not work, now it seems that 14 days is insufficient incubation.

I survived my abuser. But Hannah Clarke's murder is a reminder that many women don'tIf actions speak louder than words, then what Australia is actually saying to victims of domestic abuse right now is roll the dice. System doesn't work obviously. Two solutions, 1. Women need to choose better initially and 2. Women need to sacrifice lifestyle/child rearing and get a good job so they are financially independent and can leave a situation. Isn't that feminism at its core? ........asnd the point of this article is what? This subject needs much more expression and discussion than the few characters allowed on Twitter. What a tragic loss for everybody involved in this terrible and unsuccessful relationship.
