The Beaconsfield St property was bought as a permanent family residence although there was interest from buyers from all over Sydney as a holiday home. Karin renovated the waterfront estate and, being friends with the Danish royals, lent Mary Crown Princess of Denmark her yacht on one of her visits to Sydney.The most recent vendors of Melody Lane also undertook a partial renovation but much of Karin’s designer flair and luxury refit is still evident in the home.
Simeon said the top tier of the prestige property market was strong while the mid-market, up to $7m, was a little flat with buyers being more selective and patient.“What we are seeing is a pool of buyers who have made squillions through Covid … people who have never made so much money and who are looking to spend $20m to $40m,” Simeon said.
