Exclusive: New events management course to be offered to HSC students | AnnaPattySMH

Gemma Evans had always wanted to work in events management and gets a kick out of bringing empty entertainment venues to life.

“It is the way the industry is heading both for concerts and for corporate events, so it’s a good skill set to have,” Ms Evans said. “I think it would be valuable ... particularly the way [the pandemic] is heading.” “Students will graduate high school with a step-up in the job market for roles such as events assistant, event co-ordinator, or production assistant – which are needed to support business events, exhibitions, festivals, community, or sporting events across all sectors.”

Miss Evans gained her early experience in ticketing at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre where she works as a casual in the box office.Events manager at Newcastle Entertainment Centre Natalie Reed, one of her former TAFE teachers, has also been a mentor.

NSW records 1,480 new COVID-19 cases and nine deathsHealth authorities in NSW say they are worried about rising COVID-19 cases in inner city suburbs in Sydney including Redfern and Glebe as the state records 1,480 new infections and nine deaths. I’m so confused. How will only 13 ppl die in six months - with 80% of adults vaccinated and no lockdowns - when 9 ppl died TODAY. ABC today; Looks like the escalating vaccination rate is stabilising the new cases numbers. The hospitalisation rate should stabilise in weeks to come. When restrictions ends Darwin's theory of eliminating the weakest will fire up on all pistons. So please get vaccinated asap. ketaminh Fffuuuuccckkkk.
