Health authorities in NSW say they are worried about rising COVID-19 cases in inner city suburbs in Sydney including Redfern and Glebe as the state records 1,480 new infections and nine deaths.

Nine people with COVID-19 died in the reporting period, including a man in his 20s.NSW deputy chief health officer Marianne Gale said he was not vaccinated and had "serious underlying health conditions".The other fatalities were aged in their 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.There have been 204 COVID-19 fatalities in the state, with 148 of those deaths coming since the Delta outbreak began in June.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said 75 per cent of the state has now had a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 42 per cent of people are fully vaccinated."While parts of Western Sydney and South-Western Sydney are demonstrating outstanding results, there are otherHealth authorities reported that fragments of the virus had been found in sewage in the Bonny Hills area, south of Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast.

Seventeen of those cases were in the Dubbo local government areas, six in Burke, one in Walgett, and three in Bathurst.Data on the spread of COVID-19 in schools and childcare centres has found that the highest rate of spread as being among unvaccinated adult staff.

Looks like the escalating vaccination rate is stabilising the new cases numbers. The hospitalisation rate should stabilise in weeks to come. When restrictions ends Darwin's theory of eliminating the weakest will fire up on all pistons. So please get vaccinated asap.
