'What was unprecedented is now our future': Royal Commission bushfire report released. 9News

The report recommends a national aerial firefighting capability be established and calls for greater cooperation with First Nations and Aboriginal people with years of knowledge of the land.

Minister for Emergency Management, David Littleproud, said today the government accepts all 80 recommendations."In terms of the federal recommendations there is nothing there that the Federal Government is concerned about. I think they are very pragmatic recommendations and ones that we will continue to proceed."Mr Littleproud also said the government would accept a recommendation for a single relief and recovery agency.

"That is when it comes to natural disasters, we have a drought and flood recovery agency and also the national bushfire recovery agency was set up in response to this bushfire. We will take that recommendation," he said."I think we need to get back to first principles when it comes to charities. If a punter wants to give $500 to a disaster victim, they expect that $500 to go to them minus some admin costs," Mr Littleproud said.

"We need to make sure there is clear transparency in the charity sector in achieving data and giving confidence to our community.""Australia wide, there was significant community loss, devastation of wildlife and adverse health impacts. "These losses were exacerbated by severe hailstorms, and floods in some areas that were just starting to recover from the fires. Then COVID-19 hit.

Bushfire royal commission releases final reportThe introduction of a national state of emergency, an all-hazard emergency warning app and more aerial firefighting resources are among the recommendations from the bushfire royal commission's final report. When will the incompetent Federal Government release the report Does that mean ScoMo will finally start to spend the bushfire relief fund nearly a year after it was announced? The royal commission report states unequivocally that climate change is making bushfires more intense and more dangerous. However, it makes no recommendation for reducing our emissions, which is what is causing climate change. How is that possible?

Federal government should have a clear role in disaster response, Bushfire Royal Commission recommendsBREAKING A royal commission sparked by last summer's devastating bushfires has recommended the federal government have the power to declare a national emergency for such disasters. From Hawaii! Tough choice for ScoMo. Hawaii or responsibility. Maybe VIC can follow FEDS lead and run an open inquiry then adopt the recommendations.

Bushfire royal commission findings to be made public today | Sky News AustraliaThe findings of the Royal Commission into the Black Summer bushfires will be made public today following dozens of hearings which have been held in bushfire affected areas since February. \n\nThe report is expected to recommend ways to improve federal and state responses. \n\nThe Morrison government will consider the recommendations in Cabinet before deciding what changes to implement. \n A parks and wildlife 'service' that thought sitting in an office, locking access gates and letting the fuel load build up for years, was good policy. No matter, I'm sure they will sheet it home to climate change. After News Corp, including SKY hammered the public with stories blaming it on arsonists it will be interesting to see some accuracy and reality. I'm sure Sky 'News' will report this AND APOLOGISE?

Three-fold hike in insurance premiums mean rangers can't do crucial bushfire mitigation workIndigenous ranger groups warn they will be unable to continue fire mitigation work due to insurance premium hikes following the east coast bushfire catastrophe. They can't blame the greenies for this one. I thought back burning was a no go now because of air quality? We need more fire trails and fire breaks and make the existing ones wider. Bring in the buldozers and more aircraft.👍 insurer: *cuts off nose* Insurer: 'that'll show my face who's boss!'
