Labor's childcare subsidy will see fees 'skyrocket': Birmingham | Sky News AustraliaLiberal Party campaign spokesman Simon Birmingham says Bill Shorten’s childcare subsidy plan will only push prices up, not relieve the cost burden on Australian families. \n\nHe told Sky News that ‘the last time Labor tipped billions into the childcare sector, it saw fees skyrocket’ because ‘the companies simply took the money, pocketed it, and families were no better off'. \n\nMr Birmingham also defended his party’s preference deal with Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party, saying ‘Australia has a compulsory preferential voting system and if you’re not voting Liberal or National, there’s not a lot to choose from’. \n\nHe says ‘we’re obviously not going to give preferences to the racist policies of Fraser Anning, or to One Nation, not the irrational economics of the Greens, and certainly not to Bill Shorten who has $378 billion of higher taxes’. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n Labor solar subsidies sent power prices to the highest in the world in SA. But let’s try the same thing somewhere else hey! 🤯🤯🤯🤯 Instead if just trying to rubbish Labor’s plan DO YOU have a better plan Mr Birmingham. Families are struggling with child care costs, they need help not just negative spin. What are YOU going to do to help families? Not absolutely convinced of this from Bill but at least he is trying to pay child care workers a fair income! By opening new affordable childcare places it also enables and encourages ppl to go back in2 the workforce! What is the Libs answer to childcare workers leaving industry
