NASA's chief says he is keen to see young girls like his daughter dream of walking on the Moon — and a proposed $US1.6 billion budget boost is a good start towards making it happen.

NASA's chief says a proposed $US1.6 billion budget boost is a"good start" towards getting the first woman on the Moon within five years.NASA's next lunar program will be called Artemis, Apollo's twin sister in Greek mythologyDuring an speech at NASA headquarters in Washington, NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine said the additional money, which the White House said on Monday it was seeking from Congress, would cover programs until 2020.

"I have a daughter, she's 11 years old, and I want her to see herself in the same position that our current, very diverse astronaut corps currently sees itself, having the opportunity to go to the Moon," Mr Bridenstine said. The additional funds, if approved by Congress, would be taken from education grants, rather than the International Space Station or other departments within the space agency.

Why? NASA doesn’t have a pink suit.

The sex of astronauts is irrelevant when they are such an exclusive group due solely to their physical and intellectual capabilities. You get the job because you are superior to 99.99% of humans. Should we also aspire to sending all of the unfit and stupid men to the moon too?

The extra funding is being used to take all Julia bishops shoes, clothes and non partner.

why does this need a budget boost. Top Tip NASA you egregious egits - if you want to put a woman on the moon, just replace one of the men. It will probably cost you less because you've been underpaying her all these years

YouTubeWell that's obviously false. I mean we blasted off in our space rockets in 1969 and landed on the surface of the moon in our little tin bucket, then played golf and drove a car in circles doing donuts (that's why we took it to the moon - cool fun). So now we know the truth! . Thankfully nobody holds such quaint views in 2019...
