New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has condemned the Christchurch terrorist attack which has killed at least 40 worshippers at two mosques during Friday prayers. Ten people have been killed at Linwood mosque and a further 30 were killed at the Deans Avenue mosque.
More than 20 people are seriously injured and are receiving medical attention at Christchurch A&E, Ms Ardern told reporters on Friday. She has called it one of New Zealand's darkest days and stressed there was no place for extremist violence in her country, or perpetrators of it. One of the four suspects in custody is an Australian-born citizen, prime minister Scott Morrison has confirmed.
