Read New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's full address here following the Christchurch mosque shooting.

"Presently, the police do have one suspect in custody. However, there could be others involved. Also, there are multiple scenes involved in this incident as well. And police will be giving more details as they can as the situation unfolds.

But as I say, please remain in lockdown. We are potentially still dealing with an evolving situation. And again, as I say, across multiple sites. Please be assured, though, the police are actively managing the situation. Christchurch Hospital is dedicated to treating those who are arriving at the hospital as we speak as well.

But you have confirmed it's not an isolated incident? There were multiple areas where this took place? No, I'm not currently in a position to confirm the number of deaths or injuries. But I have to acknowledge, people can see images live from Christchurch, it will be obvious to them that this is a significant event, and I can tell you now this is, and will be, one of New Zealand's darkest days."

No surprise that an Australian man did this terrible, shameful act of violence - such a strong sub-culture of hatred - and that he streamed it on social media - this access to promoting and glorifying hatred and violence is devastating.

New Zealand PM condemns 'unprovoked' attack that left Climate Change Minister with black eyePrime Minister Jacinda Ardern says New Zealanders should not take for granted that their elected leaders are accessible, after Climate Change Minister James Shaw is punched in the face while walking to work. What a job, being a minister for a mythological perception...... The 'unprovoked' claim is debatable, unless they can prove it was random and without motive, it is really just a question of what constitutes provocation, for some that would be very little, obviously. Ardern is a chronic bs-talker and reality avoider, & they are her only skills.

'This is an unprecedented act of violence.' Prayers to the victims and to all of Christchurch. It’s just horrific. How do people get hold of the high powered weapons that were used Sadly, this type of event was always going to happen somewhere. The violent Muslims were always going to bring retribution upon other Muslims one day by their actions. There are crazies out there who were always going to strike back. Violence begets violence! I’m not surprised!
