Just after 1am, the RFS downgraded the fire at Busbys Flat, which includes Rappville, Wyan, and Myrtle Creek, near Casino.

At 10pm there were still 49 bush or grass fires burning across parts of NSW, 22 of which were yet to be contained, RFS said. Multiple roads had been closed by NSW Police last night, with people around Rappville, Busby Creek, Coombell and Myrtle Creek urged to use extreme caution due to fallen power lines and trees.

The strong winds were blowing embers ahead of the firefront, creating spot fires that threatened properties before the main firefront arrived.
