366 returned travellers from a hotel in Sydney after police found the location was not suitable for mandatory quarantine. The relocation of travellers quarantined at the Travelodge in Surry Hills began on Tuesday afternoon, with the evacuation process expected to take 12 hours.
"NSW Police ascertained that one such hotel did not meet the expectations required as part of the quarantine program," they said in a statement on Tuesday. The audits include checking infection control practices of police officers, security guards, and staff, and the proper use of personal protective equipment, the spokesperson said.More than 50,000 people have undergone mandatory quarantine in 20 hotels managed by NSW Police since the policy was introduced on the 29 March.Earlier on Tuesday, Premier Gladys Berejiklian said NSW had borne the brunt of the hotel quarantine program.
