Michael Cheika will not continue as Wallabies coach, after the team's disappointing quarter-final exit from the Rugby World Cup.

"I know that's what the papers demand, but perhaps whatever your news outlet is should think about people's feelings for a minute. Just chill."

"So, I'm the type of man who is always going to back what he says and I knew from the final whistle but I just wanted to give it that little bit time to cool down, talk to my people and then make it clear." "I really feel attached to the team and it's an honour doing this role as the coach of Australia. It's not given to a lot of people and I take it with a lot of pride and a lot of honour.

Shortly after the news broke, former Wallaby Quade Cooper tweeted saying Cheika's departure was overdue.Search for new coach already underway

Totally useless and hopeless coach!!! As a coach he is a very good bus driver or cabbie!!!!

I say IzzyFolau , step up and put your name forward for the vacant coaching position. 😂

Being that Union is a retirement sport for League players they’ll likely find success in a five year deal for Cam Smith and Meninga to coach🤷🏼‍♂️

Years too late, but better late than never. The gutless management of RA should have done this a long time ago.

Justice for IzzyFolau 👌

Finally.

Rugby is such a needlessly violent sport.

Good...and bring back Folau

😂😂😂😂
