Michael Cheika gave no indication he would stay on in the Wallabies' coaching role but also said he was not ready to say when he would leave | SMHsport

Cheika said the better team won but that Australia had played "quite well". Despite saying in February last year he would resign if he could not lead the Wallabies to a third World Cup, he refused to say when that would be.

"For me, I came here with only one thought in my mind, about winning here, and that thought's only disappeared now, not 15, 20 minutes ago. But England were clinical and physical, their back-rowers Tom Curry and Ben Underhill doing a number on Australia's breakdown. The Wallabies conceded 18 turnovers to England's eight and made 12 handling errors to England's five.

"The better team won. That's the way it is ... you have to suck it up sometimes. I was supposed to get this done for the people here, the Australians ... I'm so disappointed."The lads put everything they had into it today. Yeah, we made a few mistakes, but they've given everything. They're a credit to their country. I don't have much else to say, to be honest."

SMHsport No personal criticism, but five years in the role without improvements is long enough and it’s time to move on and give someone else the position

SMHsport Wallabies need to Bring Back Israel Folau.

SMHsport Is CEO Raylene Castle taking any responsibilty! She and Rugby Australia destroyed Israel Folau chances to play! Castle needs to be removed immediately as CEO and replaced by ex rugby player to get this sport back on track! Same fix as Cricket Australia got after “Sandpaper Gate”!

SMHsport Why should he resign? Is it because the team didn’t win the World Cup? Does that mean all teams who don’t win the World Cup have sacked or forced resignation from their coaches? Australia is too child like and throws tantrums too quickly. They lost because the Lions were better.

SMHsport How can I get LESS sport in my Twitter Feed from smh?
