An orphaned echidna is going from strength to strength at the Alice Springs Desert Park after being found at a remote community, 200 kilometres south of the town.

"He was picked up by a member of the community who looked after him for a week before they could actually bring him into Alice Springs," she said.Ms Humphrys said it was unusual to see a puggle as small as this one — let alone hand rear it.

"From the research that I've done and from vets that I've talked to, they don't usually have much success hand raising puggles below 120 grams and, considering he was 112 grams when he came in, there was a likelihood he wasn't going to survive.""It's one of those things … we don't usually name things until we know they are going to survive," Ms Humphrys said.

Zero by 2050 is not sole test of climate purity - it is one case, others push out to end of century. Given modle uncertainties & other impacts on climate (sun) it shows this is not the one hill to die on with no test of cost/benefit It took less than 10 years to put a man on the Moon why do we even need 30 years to de-carbonise our economy? We've already identified the alternative sources of energy and done mass user testing to see it works.
