Marina Go has been making her mark at the very top of some of the country's biggest sporting organisations, from Wests Tigers to Super Netball, and says women can bring a unique perspective to these boardrooms.

It's not a fun job, there's a lot of hard work involved in it, but it's very rewarding if you get to a point where you can transform an organisation, and it's the part of the business that people don't really see.

Then you can make the wrong decisions because you're making emotional decisions, and of course boards have to be removed from that emotion. In the past — hopefully not as much anymore — people often used to say,"Women are too emotional around the board table", but my experience is the exact opposite, particularly in sport. Women do provide the level sense but also a different way of looking at things. The best-functioning organisations, certainly the best-functioning boards, are boards that have people around the table who all bring a different perspective.

AFL commentator Kelli Underwood wants women to have more sport broadcasting opportunitiesKelli Underwood is a pioneer in AFL commentary and she is encouraging more women to follow her example and establish a career calling sport on radio and TV. Earn the right not because of gender Well submit their CV’s and attend job interviews like their male counterparts and if they are the best/more qualified for the position they will be successful. Surely Kelli isn’t suggesting women be given these positions purely for being female....🙄 Why ? Why does she want something for others ? She is separate human . Not her business to ‘want ‘ for others . Mind own business , not others & let others want for them self . Perhaps she thinks others are not her equal & need her to want for them .
