The Melbourne Cricket Club has submitted plans to the State Government for a return to 100 per cent capacity, with the door not yet shut on the prospect of a full house at the MCG on Anzac Day. agerealfooty

Having started the season at 50 per cent capacity, Victorian AFL stadia have been at 75 per cent capacity since round two, comfortably enough to accommodate demand for the vast majority of matches. However, two games on the calendar that routinely draw more than the current 75,000 ’G capacity are the Anzac Day eve clash between Melbourne and Richmond, and the 26-year-old Collingwood-Essendon blockbuster.

Sources familiar with the situation said on Sunday that the MCC had put forward detailed plans to the government outlining how the stadium would cope with full capacity, and that they could mobilise quickly if the green light is given this week by the Department of Health and Human Services for 100 per cent capacity. Key stakeholders retained hope on Sunday of an increase for round six.

“Lets’s see what the outcome of the AFL’s work over the weekend to track and trace everyone that walks in the door.

Asbestos found at more than 100 Queensland schools and the search continuesThe state government has already spent more than $6.5 million to extract asbestos from more than 100 Queensland state schools in this financial year alone. Audits of the hazardous material have been underway for years. There's so much in this article is very standard boring legislated compliance. Not all asbestos can be identified in a building and sometimes it slips through the gaps. The departments of education across Australia are often painfully thorough about dealing with it. No news here. Could easily be changed to 'Asbestos found at every school built prior to 1985'.
