Queensland Police have launched a manhunt after a man allegedly headbutted an officer while being escorted to the watch house.

Clayton Alvoen, 28, from Stanthorpe, was being escorted by a police officer from Warwick Magistrates Court to the watch house when he allegedly headbutted the officer and fled on foot.

Police launched an extensive search but failed to find the man. Officers believe he may have been driven away from the scene by associates. Investigations are continuing, with police appealing to the man, or anyone known to him, to contact them.“Police have taken all necessary action in relation to those involved in the domestic and family violence matters,” a spokesperson said.

The man is described as having a fair complexion, approximately 180cm tall with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes.Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
