A man has been charged after allegedly poking a syringe into bread at a Woolworths supermarket in Melbourne's outer-north. 9News

A man has been charged with contaminating food at Woolworths.

Resident Almir Colan told 9News his wife saw the man allegedly injecting what looked like a needle into some food items including bread and coffee.A Woolworths spokesperson said the bread was either thrown out or given to police as evidence."If customers have any concerns about bread purchased at the store yesterday, we would encourage them to return it to the store for a refund.
