A man attempting to defy the lockdown at one of Melbourne's public housing towers allegedly bites a police officer while trying to leave, as residents endure another day of enforced quarantine in their apartments.

A man who tried to defy the lockdown at one of Melbourne's public housing towers allegedly bit a police officer while attempting to leave, as residents endured another day of enforced quarantine in their apartments.

"Early on this afternoon we had a 32-year-old male who attempted to leave from one of the towers in Flemington," Commissioner Patton said. "There was an issue there where that male tried to leave against instructions. A fight occurred where the police were assaulted and that male bit one of the members."

The 32-year-old was likely to face charges for assaulting and resisting police, as well as breaching COVID-19 restrictions, Commissioner Patton said.127 new cases of coronavirus had been recorded in VictoriaThat number includes 16 new cases of COVID-19 in the public housing towers. Another 10 infections recorded in earlier numbers have now also been linked to the towers."It's essentially a doubling of the numbers since yesterday," Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said.

Since you can’t name a 32 year olds name, it leaves no choice but to expect he is from that religion of body pieces your adore 🤦‍♂️

Maybe Victoria should adopt a shoot first then, ask questions, these turds must be made to understand that they are quarantined for a reason!

“It’s like being in prison”. It will be now!

Animals

Biting? You'd want to call a vet to check him

and I've often in the past wondered why the Chinese govt was welding the doors in the shutdown areas or chase ppl around the streets

How much do you guys love this? Surely a wet dream

“Accused”? The police have stated it as fact.. he bit as he was being arrested.. why can’t the ABC get anything accurate.. biting some mid-pandemic too

Hungry?

Bunch of wingers, 50 hours so far, people saying that they are starving?!

I'd be angry too if I was stuck in that situation.

One idiot says that havent had food delivered in 24 hours.. dont you have food in your pantry or fridge Another idiot wants his medication... it turned out to be panadol..lmao. what is wrong with these people

57 CASES in these TOWERS & it is probably SOME of them NOT prepared to have TESTS in the 1st place!! STOP treating this as a COLD/FLU situation!! It is TIME ALL VICS stop abusing it!!!👎👎👎😷😷

That's what you get when you lock up the poor in a way you'd never treat the rich. Go lock down a tower in Port Melbourne.

Is he a Bloody Bat? Lock him up!

3 days. Three, THREE DAYS, that's all it took? 😃👍 Well done Victoria! 🧟‍♂️

Fuck them back where they came from

And yet 1,000 partygoers in Byron Bay and the organisers don't get fined. How's that double standard going?

This is just the start. This can't go on. Using SS style operatives will bring you down. Use a bit of lateral thinking stupid police leaders.

Was he a drug addict or alcoholic?

10 years jail then back on the banana boat

Charge and send the person prison for assaulting a police officer. Then we'll see how their temper holds up in a real lockdown environment.

Lock him up

This is a crackdown on innocent people. Locked in their cages, stacked one atop the other, denied the freedom to move about. Just like so many battery hens. Well done Australia for allowing this tyranny to take place.

Grub.

You won't see this reported on TheirABC -

5 days of lockdown for these people = 5 days of crime rates in Melbourne goes down, lol!

So one bloke running off is boiling over ?

Animals.

These towers 👇👇👇

youth gangs have always been a problem The cops have never been on top Always reactive after the crimes
