Paine resigned from his position as Australia’s Test captain on Friday after a series of lewd texts from 2017 between him and a former Cricket Tasmania employee surfaced.
Ms Warner, who is the wife of Australian opening batsman David Warner, said Cricket Australia’s treatment of the incident created two standards for players and captains. Despite the growing pressure on Paine’s position in the team Ms Warner said she wanted to see him remain the side's wicketkeeper.
