External challenges?

Wait, we need a “conversation” about this. The ripple effect of incompetent ineffectual ministers and government.

As the cash handouts dry up...let's wait and see if the traditional owners have a backflip on climbing the rock

Tourists are the classic 'foot-loose' investors. With the whole World to choose from, tourists tend to prioritise places where they feel safe, welcomed, allowed to do interesting things and maybe grab a photograph or two as a memento. Don't want tourists? Do the opposite.

Egg shells story without mentioning the unmentionable. ‘You just have to walk up Todd Mall’ he says! Something something in your own nest!

This is just a taste of what will happen in these regions until tough measures are implemented to make these communities habitable .Criminals rule ,nothing to do with racism

No interest in going. Division, squalor, crime, get off our rock.

It used to be a place you could camp under the stars, climb Ayers Rock, take a tour led by an Aboriginal & go to Alice. Then they took away the cops powers, gave the grog back & totally ignored good people like Jacinta Price who have experience in Alice...

Good to hear. Tourism should be halted until something is done about these degenerates who are destroying the town.

People used to go there to climb Ayers Rock. But….. you know…..

‘External challenges’. God I hate such Wankspeak.

Is negative media to blame or is it what the media was reporting on?

Come to WA's Mount Augustus and see a real rock and its much safer

Does ABC stand for Annal Broadcasting Communist?

Sad news, would it be anything to do with scaring the age demographic that do those type of tours half to death with non stop propaganda about covid and then lifting restrictions on alcohol in a vulnerable community?

I sure as hell don't wanna go anywhere near it... not anymore too dangerous and subjected to too many 'welcome to country' nonsense

Imagine destroying a tourist mecca … Simply by saying you can’t do that … The bastions of the “new” mob. 🤦‍♂️

There’s a hint in this article about how life will be if we don’t voteno

What did you seriously expect.

How about bringing back the cashless debit card, and let tourists climb the rock, otherwise it's a shithole that nobody will want to visit let alone live in

“External challengers” hahaha you mean the violent Neanderthal behaviour of the local indigenous population.

Hmm if only we could work out why no one wants to go to Uluru anymore…

NT will be lost to alcohol fuelled indigenous crime putting the lives of indigenous women & children at significant risk of domestic violence & assaults. But the reality doesn't meet the political script being run by AlboMP & the NT Chief Minister TheNTNews 9NewsDarwin auspol

Where will affluent boomers go to get their packaged Indigenous cultural experiences?

The tourists have spoken.

Situation in Alice Springs is still ‘shocking’The situation in Alice Springs is still “shocking” following the removal of cashless debit cards, according to Shadow Minister for Indigenous Australians Julian Leeser. “It’s a shocking situation, I went with Peter Dutton to Laverton and Leonora in the goldfields to communities that had the cashless debit card,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “Since the cashless debit card has been taken away, there's more money in those communities. “People are spending money on drugs, people are spending money on alcohol, there’s an increase in the amount of alcohol-fuelled violence.” There has to be a huge social welfare intervention. If these were white kids complete social breakdown, we would do it. But we are afraid of Stolen Generation ranting that is not applicable to this time and problem. If we care, we will not fear that rant.

Family in Alice Springs living in third world conditions on ‘cement slab’SA Liberal Senator Kerrynne Liddle says there needs to be “accountability, transparency, and responsibility” to help Indigenous families living in almost third world conditions in Northern Territory communities. Ms Liddle’s comments come after a family moved to Alice Springs as one of the members was diagnosed with kidney disease and needed dialysis. “These were people on a cement slab, who are not drinkers, they’re not gamblers, they are just trying to do the best they can,” Ms Liddle told Sky News host Sharri Markson. “It’s about supporting this family.” I think if accountability, transparency and responsibility were adhered to, it would point to a place nobody wants to admit exists They need to take accountability and responsibility for themselves. So can you explain who trashed the houses that had previously been built or maybe government just didn’t listen to the folks and provide what they really wanted not what some bureaucrats thought they needed
