SA Liberal Senator Kerrynne Liddle says there needs to be “accountability, transparency, and responsibility” to help Indigenous families living in almost third world conditions in Northern Territory communities.

Ms Liddle’s comments come after a family moved to Alice Springs as one of the members was diagnosed with kidney disease and needed dialysis.

“These were people on a cement slab, who are not drinkers, they’re not gamblers, they are just trying to do the best they can,” Ms Liddle told Sky News host Sharri Markson.

She’s right, but I’ve never heard of her.

Outback is now regional. Legislators have sidelined accountability, etc. to pursue a personal stockpile for the fittest. If only they knew the damnation they bring to themselves. Community family support will depend on generous believers.

What did the LNP do for nearly 10 yrs?

What these Aboriginal communities can’t get of their backsides & help build housing for themselves ?

They have a choice not to live there . Just like they have choice to live way they do

Meaning? On the ground?

Open question. Can anyone provide examples of the LNP or ALP uniparty being open and transparent?

“Almost third world conditions” … hahaha … I live in a so-called third world and I’ve travelled extensively in outback Australia. Aborigines in remote communities live in an institutionalised squalor.

So can you explain who trashed the houses that had previously been built or maybe government just didn’t listen to the folks and provide what they really wanted not what some bureaucrats thought they needed

They need to take accountability and responsibility for themselves.

I think if accountability, transparency and responsibility were adhered to, it would point to a place nobody wants to admit exists
