MORNING BRIEFING: There is chaos on the M1 after a fatal truck crash causes significant queues along the Central Coast motorway, while a Sydney man faces court after allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine in children's books.

People driving to Sydney from the Central Coast are being urged to work from home today with a fatal truck crash causing major delays on the M1.

Two trucks collided about 10:40pm last night at Wahroonga, about two kilometres north of the Hornsby exit, leaving one driver dead. Dave Wright from the Transport Management Centre said there would be significant delays as police investigated the site of the crash."Anyone who lives around the Central Coast or the Hunter region who is coming into Sydney ... we are strongly urging [you] to either work at home or travel via train."A Sydney man will face court today after allegedly trying to smuggle $645,000 worth of cocaine inside the covers of children's books from Portugal.

The Australian Border Force said two separate packages containing the books were x-rayed at the International Mail Gateway in Sydney and revealed to contain 1.72 kilograms of cocaine.He was taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with attempting to import commercial quantities of cocaine. He was also given two cannabis cautions.Ratepayers on Sydney's northern beaches are being sent a fake invoices tied to an email scam, after a local councillor's private data was reportedly hacked.

Northern Beaches Liberal councillor Rory Amon used social media to warn residents his data was hacked and to delete the email, which contained a bogus invoice purportedly from the council.An Avalaon resident who received the email said it looked"completely legitimate" and was concerned people could be"easily misled and possibly out of pocket as a result".
