Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reveals Li Qiang will become first Chinese Premier to visit Australia in seven years
Rumours of a visit had swirled for months prior to Mr Albanese's confirmation on Tuesday, with Canberra and Beijing having made a number of strides toward improving relations over the past two years. "Premier Li Qiang’s visit to Australia is an important opportunity to engage directly on key issues for both our nations," he said.
