On the campaign’s final day, Matthew Guy tried to fuel the Coalition’s momentum by promising voters he would be a safe alternative, while Daniel Andrews warned that the Liberals would cut jobs

Labor remains on track to cling to power in Victoria, despite a late surge in support for the Coalition.

Announcing six new tech schools worth $116 million, and $24 million worth of grants to every kinder in the state, Andrews urged voters to remember “what’s at risk” on election day. “It’s about a chance for Victoria to move on from the last few years, years of negativity,” Guy told reporters on Friday.

The Liberal Party is also banking on strong swings away from Labor in the safe seats of Sunbury, Sydenham, Eureka and Point Cook.
